Tucked into Biscayne Bay sits Sandspur Island — better known to our guests as Raccoon Island. It's only reachable by boat, and it's home to a family of wild raccoons that wander down to the shoreline to greet visitors.

What to know
- The raccoons are wild and free. We never cage or bait them. We visit respectfully.
- Bring fresh drinking water for them. In Miami's heat they get genuinely thirsty, and clean water is the healthiest thing you can offer. Please don't feed them human snacks — it makes them sick.
- It's a full half-day on the water. We pair the island with a swim stop at the sandbar and a cruise past Miami's mansion row.
